Week 4
Hello, Glee Singers - your weekly installment of news and reminders.
Firstly, following a great rehearsal last week, we are, as usual, meeting again on Wednesday 30 January, 19.30-21.30 in L/047. After that, we're all heading over to Stuart the Extraordinary Member's house for our Wine and Cheese social. It'll cost £2.50 to attend, to pay for the wine and cheese - we should also have some non-alcoholic and non-lactose refreshments, but if there's any particular food or drink you want to bring along, you're welcome to (if anyone wants to bring any wine and cheese, they are welcome to do so; it's NOT necessary to do so, however, so panic runs to the supermarket are not required).
Regarding merchandise, we're trying to go fair-trade - I'm sure we all caught something of the "Save Viking Raid" furore - so merchandise will be held up for a while whilst we look into that.
Bill, our Webmaster, has set up a discussion forum - if anyone wants to talk about the choir, and by some rare chance is not on facebook, or perhaps just wants a change, they can do so on the site.
We're in the process of sorting out our concerts - keep the Sundays of Weeks 8 & 9 open! If anyone needs a folder, or music for their folder, they are to ask the Librarian, Michael Houston, who will I'm sure gladly sort it out for you.
Finally - as those of us who have been involved with the choir for a while no doubt know, we are closely involved with the Gilbert & Sullivan Society - and, as I expect you also know, they will be performing a G&S musical, 'Ruddigore', in Week 6, 14-16 February. If anyone is interested in stewarding the performances, do let G&S know - just e-mail socs46. You'd need to be available on 14, 15, and 16 February at 19.30, as well as 16 February at 14.30. Do help out if you're free.
See you all on Wednesday!
Michael
